I love "how do you do math?" questions. Here's how my brain does it:

(20 + 40) + (8 + 7) = 75
I was taught to do it...
(8 + 7) carry the 1 to (4 + 2) = 75.
My way feels quicker and easier.
my brain breaks it down as:
2 + 4 = 6, add a 0
7 + 8 = 15
60 + 15 = 75
this is probably an artifact from how I learned to multiply, by processing the numbers in each decimal place together and worrying about the 0s afterwards

8 × 2 = 16. 16 - 1 = 15
60 + 15 = 75

14+1=15
